Texas Rangers Need Help for Post Season

The Texas Rangers are currently sitting 2 games back of the Astros for the third wildcard spot.

The Mariners are currently sitting in first place, 1 game above the Astros.

The Rangers are 3 games back of the Mariners, but there is nothing they can do about that. They are finished playing Seattle in 2025 unless they meet in the postseason.

They can, however, move ahead of Houston this week as they are about to play 3 games against the in-state rivals. The Rangers have won 7 of their last games while the Astros have won 4 of 10.

The Rangers have a great opportunity to take over the second spot in the American League West if they can just take care of business this week.

Who’s Left to Play?

  • The Mariners have the Kansas City Royals, Houston Astros, Colorado Rockies, and Los Angeles Dodgers remaining on their schedule.
  • The Rangers have the Astros, Miami Marlins, Minnesota Twins, and Cleveland Guardians. Both teams have winnable schedules, and they can together bury the Astros with two series sweeps.

The likelihood of that happening is not good, and if it did, the Rangers would most likely miss the postseason. The Rangers need to win 4 more games than the Mariners to make the postseason.

While it has been really fun to watch the last few weeks of Rangers baseball, I just don’t have the confidence that both the Astros and Mariners are going to implode together at the end of the season.

Can They Do It?

I truly hope I’m wrong. I want nothing more than to see the Rangers storm into the postseason on a huge win streak.

I would like to see the Little Rascals get a chance to play ball in October, play meaningful baseball. Adolis Garcia and Corey Seager are back on the diamond in October.

The opportunity to see Jacob deGrom pitch in the playoffs would be amazing, too. That is something all Rangers fans would like to see.

Miracles can happen; the last month plus has looked like a miracle so far.

The Rangers have 12 games left to make the postseason.
