For the first time in 148 days, Texas Rangers Baseball is back!! The squad from the Lone Star State will be back in action for the first time since bringing home their first-ever World Series title last November.

The Rangers are set to take on the Cubs at 6:35 tonight at Globe Life Field, and here is everything you need to know before you go.

Parking lots at Globe Life Field are set to open at 2:00 PM, followed by ballpark gates at 3:30. The gates will be open for Rangers batting practice at 3:30 and Cubs batting practice at 4:30 before the pre-game ceremonies begin at 6:00 PM.

Globe Life Field will become the only Rangers stadium to house a World Series banner as the club will unveil the 20-foot tall and 30-foot wide banner before Thursday’s game. The banner will hang adjacent to the Globe Life Field right field video board and will be unveiled from the park’s roof support before the game on Thursday.

Many wondered who would be honored to throw out the first pitch at the Rangers’ first-ever post-World Series-winning Opening Day. The Rangers have chosen to give that honor to the fans as longtime season ticket holder Michael Carter will toss the first pitch to Ivan Rodriguez.

It’s not a Rangers Opening Day without a giant American and Texas flag in the outfield, but this year will bring a flag even more special. United States Congressman Roger Williams will present the American flag that flew over the U.S. Capitol on November 1, 2023, the day the Rangers won the World Series.

Speaking of America, Texas country singer/songwriter Wade Bowen will perform the National Anthem. The Texas native’s new album, Flyin, will be released on May 10, during the 7th inning stretch. The Texas Tenors will sing God Bless the U.S.A.

Last year, the Rangers claimed a come-from-behind win on Opening Day against the Phillies by a score of 11-7, bringing their record in series openers to 24-28. Texas has won each of the two Opening Day games played at Globe Life Field. (2020, 2023)

In addition to Thursday’s season opener, the Texas Rangers Ring ceremony will take place before Saturday’s game, which is set to begin at 6:05.
