Tuesday morning, the Dallas Wings officially announced the signing of 6’6 big Stephanie Soares.

The Wings acquired Soares during the 2023 WNBA draft after the Washington Mystics selected her with the fourth overall pick.

Soares missed last season with a knee injury which she sustained while in college at Iowa State.

In 13 games with the Iowa State Cyclones, Soares averaged 14.4 points and 9.9 rebounds while shooting 54.4% from the field and recording a double-double in eight of 13 contests.

Soares will return alongside Lou Lopez Sénéchal who was another 2023 first-round pick that also missed all of last season with a knee injury.

Combined Soares with Lopez Sénéchal and whichever prospects the Wings select with the 5th and 9th pick in the upcoming WNBA and the Wings’ fluctuant of young talent will only continue.
