Now that the calendar has flipped to July, we’re a few months away from the opening kickoff of the 2023 NFL regular season, with the Dallas Cowboys looking to capture another NFC East title under fourth-year coach Mike McCarthy.

Regardless of how Dak Prescott and the ‘Boys do under the blinding lights of AT&T Stadium, fans of the team will still support them — either through traditional in-person attendance or by betting on the team each Sunday this fall.

On the subject of sports betting, BetTexas.com utilized Statista’s 2022 “Attitudes Toward Sports Betting” survey of NFL fans with 1,020 respondents to find the fanbases with the highest percentage of sports betting users.

It should be noted that the findings are just a sample size of NFL fans who claimed to be fans of a specific NFL team. The percentage represents how many people are sports bettors out of the sample, as seen on Seven Casino.

The Cowboys’ rank comes despite there being no legal Texas sports betting.

Bills supporting wagering failed in the legislature this year and won’t be discussed again until 2025.

Cowboys Take Advantage of National Reach

Despite the Lone Star State’s failure to get a sports betting initiative on the ballot during this year’s legislative session, there clearly is a lot of support for wagering among Cowboys fans.

Dallas fans ranked in a tie for fourth (with Chicago) in sports betting user percentage, coming in at 6% overall.

League-wide, Cowboys fans trailed supporters of the New York Giants and Buffalo Bills, who led the league at 13% and 11%, followed by the Arizona Cardinals (8%).

The year ahead should be a prime opportunity for Cowboys fans to extract some betting value from the squad. Although there is no BetMGM Sportsbook Texas, nationally, the operator gives the Cowboys +650 odds of winning the NFC (ranking third overall).

For those looking to make an over/under play, BetMGM lists the Cowboys’ playoff odds at -200, with +165 odds on the team missing the postseason.
Additionally, Dallas’ preseason win total is 9.5, with -150 odds on the over and +125 on the under.
