‘Express Grill’ powered by Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology to provide a checkout-free experience with hot food, snacks, and beverages.

Two convenience-oriented food service outlets are now open at Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers – and they are the first in a Dallas-area sports and entertainment venue equipped with Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology and Amazon One.

Amazon’s physical retail technologies are designed to enable an effortless and convenient shopping experience by eliminating checkout lines and reducing friction by giving guests the option to pay with their palms.

Guests visiting the Just Walk Out technology and Amazon One-enabled stores at Globe Life Field can insert their credit cards or hover their palms at the entry gates to shop.

“We are excited to be collaborating with Amazon and Delaware North to add this new shopping experience to Globe Life Field,” said Rob Matwick, Texas Rangers Executive Vice President, Business Operations.

“The Express Grill locations will offer added convenience and quicker transactions – allowing fans to spend more time watching a Rangers game or event and less time standing in line.”

When shopping at Express Grill, anything a guest takes off a shelf is automatically added to their virtual cart, and anything they put back on the shelf comes out of their virtual cart.

When guests have completed their shopping experience, they will be able to leave the store, and the credit card they inserted or linked to their Amazon One ID will be charged for the items they took.

“The team at Globe Life Field recognizes that fans want a fast and frictionless way to get hot food, snacks, and beverages – without having to wait in line and miss any of the action,” said Dilip Kumar, Vice President, AWS Applications.

“We’re thrilled to work with Delaware North to bring our checkout-free technology and palm identity and payment service, Amazon One, to this state-of-the-art stadium to improve the fan experience.”

The outlets, which are branded “Express Grill” and operated by food service and retail partner Delaware North, are located near sections 108 and 124.

Offerings include cheeseburgers, hot dogs, bratwurst, sausage, and corn dogs, along with an assortment of packaged beer, spiked seltzers, soda, bottled water, chips, candies, and sundries.

“We are always looking to implement solutions that improve the speed of service and convenience for guests,” said Casey Rapp, Delaware North’s general manager at Globe Life Field.

“Delaware North has experienced the benefits of deploying Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology and Amazon One in many professional sports venues. What’s unique about our Globe Life Field locations is both are truly one-stop shops – with a menu of hot, prepared food to go along with snacks and beverages.”

Delaware North employees will serve as greeters and provide in-store assistance as needed.
Guests purchasing alcohol will be required to show their ID to a store attendant for age verification.
