While the Dallas Stars have recently gained their mojo back on offense after a cold month in February, today’s a good day to look back on the nights when a Star put on a performance to tip your hat to. To date there have been __ occasions where one of the guys in victory green scored three goals in
Captain America’s show in Canada
Coming across the Canadian border, Joe Pavelski went off on a four point night. Scoring a natural hat trick with three goals, and adding an assist he led the Stars to a 5-2 drubbing over the Montreal Canadians. Stars’ head coach Pete DeBoer is more than familiar with Pavelski’s talents. Given their time together with the San Jose Sharks as well as in Dallas.
“It’s incredible what he’s doing,” Stars coach Peter DeBoer said of Pavelski. “He looks exactly like he did five, six years ago, like the clock stopped. And he looks like he could do it for another five years. It’s hard to explain, he’s just a special athlete.”
Robo lights up old California rival
On one of the Stars’ best overall nights of the season, Jason Roberson came up golden in the golden state vs the Anaheim Ducks. Falling three goals (two of the.m on the power play), Robertson led the Stars to a 5-0 win over their old pacific divisional foes. This was game number 17 of Robo’s historic 18 game point streak in Dallas. After the game Robertson spoke about the game, and having a special fan in attendance that night.
“I’m just getting in position to shoot the puck,” Robertson said. “Just got to get past the first guy and get it to the net. I’m happy my mom was able to make it and watch it. She’s probably over the moon right now and excited.”
Three goals in a losing effort
Hosting the Minnesota Wild Sunday, December 4th, Hintz got the Stars a valuable point as Dallas lost the game in a 6-5 contest that ended in a shootout. It was his second career hat trick.
Roope’s three deep dishes
In the most recent of hat tricks, Roope Hintz helped the Stars serve up some revenge against the Chicago Blackhawks. On March 3rd, Hintz dished up two power play goals on the team’s first two goals of the night. In the last minute of play, Hintz sealed away the win with an empty net goal.

The game the Stars were looking to avenge came on Tuesday, February 22nd. Dallas would sit on a three goal lead that got blown with nothing to show. What made Dallas’ victory, and Hintz’s hat trick even sweeter was it was the Stars’ second victory in two nights (with a 4-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes the night before).
More to come?
Tonight in emerald city, the Stars take on the Seattle Kraken for the first of three meetings (two in Seattle, and once in Dallas). With 17 games left in the season, plus a highly likely postseason in store the Stars could see more hats being thrown into the ice, or by fans in their living rooms. After a 10 goal explosion Thursday night, the hats could start raining on the ice again soon.
