The Texas Rangers have begun spring training 2023. Pitchers and catchers reported over the weekend and the full squad is not there in Surprise, AZ.

Some non-Rangers news is the fact that Elvis Andrus will be the new second baseman for the Chicago White Sox.

Elvis will be moving positions to be able to play for the Sox. I’m glad he got a job as he is still one of my favorite Rangers of all time.

In case you missed it, the Rangers agreed to a minor league deal with Robbie Grossman over the weekend. He will compete for a spot on the roster with lots of other people.

Grossman has a career .245 batting average (.724 OPS) during his ten years in the league. He played between Detroit and Atlanta in 2022 hitting just .209.

The Rangers hope he can hit well in a platoon role if he makes the squad.

Jacob deGrom was held out of workouts and the world (New York) lost it. They said he was a bust and they are glad he is gone.

We will take him. It was nothing serious according to sources and he is now a full participant.

The Rangers have some decisions to make, and next week I will start my way too early predictions on who will make the 2023 roster.

Those are always fun to do and I hop you all enjoy them as well.

The Rangers plan on contending in 2023, and the are willing to bring in and spend whomever they think will help them reach that goal.

New manager Bruce Bochy is excited to get the season started. The players are excited to get started. The fans are ready as well.

The starting rotation is set barring injury, but I believe that it will be a good and fun spring to keep up with everything that the Rangers are going to do going forward.
