When the clock struck midnight on Saturday, December 31st, 2022, the most successful year in Dallas Wings history was officially put to rest. When the early days of January roll around people tend to look forward to things they are excited about in the next year. For the Dallas Wings that list is quite a lengthy one, today we’re gonna take a look at three things for the Dallas Wings to look forward to in 2023.

1. Another season of Marike – If you know anything about Dallas Wings basketball you know how dynamic the duo of Marina Mabery and Arike Ogunbowale truly is. Much to the delight of the Dallas Wings and their fans that duo will be back running the Dallas Wings backcourt in 2023. This year, the duo is poised to provide some veteran leadership and some great play to anchor this Wings team.

2. The Breakout of Awak Kuier – I really really think that this season is gonna be a breakout season from Awak Kuier. That’s crazy considering that she averaged just 2.8 points per game this past season but the 6’4 center saw increased playing time in 2022. Kauier has been playing well in Europe this offseason and I think she’s poised for a breakout this season with even more playing time and a new coaching staff.

3. A Dallas Wings team that’s ready to compete for a championship – When Dallas Wings fans list out the things that they are looking forward to in 2023, being ready to compete for a championship has to be near the top. With a mostly returning roster and playoff experience in 2022, the Wings are locked and loaded in the new year. First-year head coach Latricia Trammell has already expressed to win a championship in Dallas and she definitely has the type of roster that can bring a WNBA championship to the Lone Star State.
