Earlier this month the Dallas Wings unveiled their schedule for the 2023 season. In a video with Arike Ogunbowale, Satou Sabally, and basketball legend Nancy Lieberman the club announced their slate of games for their sixth season in the Lone Star State.
The WNBA has expanded its league schedule this season to 40 games for every team. Each squad will play exactly 20 home games and 20 games on the road.
The Dallas Wings and first-year head coach Latricia Trammell will begin their season on Saturday, May 20th against the Atlanta Dream in the College Park Center. This will be the second straight season the Wings have opened up against the Dream and the fourth time since moving to Dallas.
The Wings won’t have to worry about the Monday blues this season as they do not play a single game on a Monday. Dallas will play the most games on Sundays’ with 12 games coming on the final day of the week.
The defending champion Las Vagas Aces will be in town on Friday, July 7th as part of a home-and-home series. The Aces, led by defending coach of the year Becky Hammon are sure to have one of the best teams in the league once again.
The longest homestand for the Wings this season will be a span of four games and will take place from August 4th through August 12th. Those opponents will be the Chicago Sky (8/4 and 8/6), the defending champion Las Vagas Aces (8/8), and the Connecticut Sun (8/12).
Finally, Dallas will wrap up their season schedule on Sunday, September 12th on the road against the Atlanta Dream. It will be the second time since 2017 that the Wings will both open and close the season against Atlanta.
