The double A affiliate for the Texas Rangers is stacked. When I say stacked, I mean really stacked.
In case you missed it, the RoughRiders are in the best of 3 championship series against the Wichita Wind Surge, and they won game 1 Sunday night by the final of 11-3.
Mason Englert got the start and went 5.1 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 3.
Scott Kapers had two hits on the night and he made them count. He had a solo home run and a grand slam, giving him 5 of the RoughRiders 11 RBI.
The RoughRiders have been great all year, even though the team has lost a bunch of players to the Ranger and AAA affiliate Round Rock Express. They have still found a way to win and make it to the AA postseason.
They could be crowned champions as early as Tuesday night. Either way, someone will be crowned champions by Wednesday night. The MiLB app is where you can watch it, and I believe they are showing it free of charge.
The Rangers minor league system has been reloaded. It is really showing. The only Rangers affiliate that does not have a winning record in 2022 is the major league team.
IF you get the chance I highly recommend that you watch the game Tuesday night on the app. We will be live tweeting the game @theridersreport on Twitter.
The RoughRiders have not won the championship since 2004. Should be a fun game to watch, and it gives the Rangers prospects a chance to play for a championship as a team. This is good news for anyone wondering when the Rangers are going to get good.
