Arlington – On Monday the Dallas Wings announced that they would not be exercising the team option on head coach Vickie Johnson. A search for a new head coach will begin immediately.

President and CEO Greg Bibb said “ I would like to thank Vickie for her work on behalf of the organization and wish her the best in her future endeavors.

Johnson finished with a 32-36 record and a 1-3 playoff record with Dallas.

This season marked the second straight first-round exit for Dallas.

The goal this season for the Wings was to win in the playoffs, which just did not happen. Dallas still has a very good young core that will be able to win soon.

Now is the time for the Wings to find the head coach to bring a WNBA championship to Dallas.
