On Sunday afternoon, the Dallas Wings took down the Connecticut Sun 89-79 for their first playoff win in Dallas Wings history. That historic win forced a winner take all game three on Wednesday night.
Wednesday will be the first home playoff game in Dallas Wings history. The game will tip off at 8:00 PM CST from the College Park Center in Arlington.
If you can’t make it to the CPC, you can catch the game on ESPN.
Wings head coach Vickie Johnson had a simple message for people in the DFW area. “Show up and show out”.
Dallas having the homecourt advantage in a winner-take-all-game three could end up making a huge difference. To this point in the playoffs, home teams have a record of 6-2.
What are three keys for Dallas to take this game?
- The Start of the game – The Wings need to start fast here in game three. As we saw in game two, Dallas won the first quarter by a score of 22-7. They even started the second half by winning the third quarter by a score of 30-17.
- Someone has to step up – In game two Kayla Thornton put up a team-high 20 points, despite not being one of the team’s top scorers in the regular season. Someone on this team needs to step up with this season on the line.
- Lock in on the defensive end – The term defense wins championships is not just an old saying. If Dallas can play team defense for all four quarters they will come out on top.
Unlike the other two games, I think that this game is going to be close. However, in the end, I think Dallas pulls away.
