Arguably the best young player in the entire NBA, the 23-year-old Slovenian Mavericks Star Luka Doncic has been making positive comments many fans love to hear.
During an exclusive interview with Marca in Paris, Doncic said:
“I always want more, I want to win the ring, and hopefully, I will get it. Every season I start, my goal is to win the ring.”
With only four NBA seasons, Doncic already has an impressive record, including a three-time All-Star award, three-time All-NBA first-team award, 2019 Rookie of the Year award, and now he has his eyes set on a Championship. And for Mavericks fans, you’ll be happy to know that his goal is to win it in Dallas with the Mavericks.
The NBA Star also has his own pair of signature Jordan Luka 1s shoes and knows how to use every opportunity to talk, flaunt and show them off.
When asked about his shoes, he exclaimed:
“They are extraordinary! It’s a very long project to design and create the shoe, but I’ve been very involved in all the details, the colors, the materials, the design. I’ve been very involved from the beginning.”
Doncic wore the bright red version of his signature shoes. There are other colors available, and they will slowly be rolled out throughout the summer for fans to buy.
When reviewing Doncic’s stats last season, the young All-NBA First Team finished the regular season with averages of 28.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 8.7 assists.
If you ask Doncic about stats, he might answer you the same way he answered Marca during the interview:
“I think they look more at rings and what you’ve won. Records are fine, but winning is the most important thing.”

The Mavericks do have a good chance in the 2022-23 NBA season – as last season; they finished with a 52–30 win-loss record. They made it all the way to Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals and ended up being defeated by the Golden State Warriors in a 120-110 battle on the court. It was a close game that has set them up to be in a good position this season. The Mavericks are among the frontrunners in the Western Conference, ranked as fifth-most likely to win it in the latest Coral NBA betting odds. Much of that is dependent on their hugely important offseason, with big recruitment decisions to be made, like whether to retain picks or to package picks in a deal to acquire a veteran player or maybe even an All-Star.
But the general manager of the Dallas Mavericks, Nico Harrison, doesn’t think it’s all about having All-Stars. He believes that roster upgrades should be about building a strong team with a star player and a supporting cast that work together and play at a high level.
The Dallas Mavericks now have a record of 148-116, thanks to Doncic. But he doesn’t only play for the NBA; he also represents the Slovenian national team. While he has had an amazing career at 23, it is possible for him to be traded someday and possibly win his ring with another team.
Even Doncic himself acknowledged the possibility when he said:
“I’m not thinking about moving; my goal is to stay and win it in Dallas. Of course, you never know in the future.”
Another season is about to start, and the Mavericks have another chance to win the Championship, especially with their Star Luka Doncic leading the way.
With great stats, talent, and energy like his, the NBA sensation is a rising star.
While no one can surely know what will happen in the future, we can confidently predict that the Dallas Mavericks will have a good shot next season at making and winning the NBA playoffs.
