Last week I waxed poetic and reminisced about Arlington Stadium and came up with my all-time team for that era.
You can find that piece here.

Now it’s time for my all-time Globe Life Park team; once again I will fill a 25-man roster.

This one was a little bit harder because there were so many great teams fielded there.

INFIELD/OUTFIELD/DH

  • 1B Will Clark

He was a leader in the clubhouse and had one of the best swings I have ever seen.

  • 2B Michael Young

He is to the Rangers what ice cream is to a warm slice of apple pie.

  • 3B Adrian Beltre

Were you expecting anybody else here?

  • SS Alex Rodriguez

Fight me if you want but there’s no denying the numbers he put up while here.

  • LF Juan Gonzalez

He is one of two players to make both lists.

  • CF Josh Hamilton

You have to look past his off the field problems and embrace what he did as a player.

  • RF Nelson Cruz

Don’t mention that game.

  • C Ivan Rodriguez

He’s the other one to make both teams.

  • DH Rafael Palmeiro

I still have his 1987 Topps rookie card. I really do. Trust me. I’m pointing my finger when I say that.

BENCH

STARTING PITCHING

  • Kenny Rogers

The guy threw a perfect game and also threw a punch at a cameraman.

  • Rick Helling

Led the majors with 20 wins in 1998. He didn’t have the greatest ERA but he was an innings eater.

  • Colby Lewis

The Colbra.

  • Cliff Lee

He was only here for half a season but whoa was it a memorable one.

  • Yu Darvish

I miss him here. Yuuuuuuuuu!

BULLPEN

Once again this includes both starters and relievers

  • Neftali Feliz
  • Joe Nathan
  • John Wetteland
  • Tom Henke
  • CJ Wilson
  • Kevin Millwood
  • Cole Hamels
  • Derek Holland

So there it is. Like I said it was tough to mull over all of the choices I had.

I wish I had room for players like Dean Palmer, Mark McLemore, Matt Harrison, David Murphy…you get what I mean. Just wait until next week when I post my all-time Globe Life Field team. No. No, I’m not. I just wanted to see if you were still paying attention.

Until next time, I’ll see you in the cheap seats!
