After the Rangers lost their final exhibition game to the Colorado Rockies, manager Chris Woodward started out his post-game press conference with an announcement.
“So, I will tell you guys our final roster moves I guess”, he started out. “We kept Ian Gibaut, Kolby Allard, and Joe Palumbo for our bullpen. We also kept Guzman, Refsnyder, Heineman, and Taveras”, he went on.
“They have all been informed, along with the guys who did not make the team”, he ended with.
That meant that Greg Bird lost his battle with Ronald Guzman as the backup first baseman to Todd Frazier. This wasn’t a huge surprise since Bird wasn’t on the bench during the game, and wasn’t in the 10 batter lineup.
The final roster is set and is as follows.
*Players NOT in Bold have yet to be added to the 40 man roster. That means that moves need to make today.
