After writing about LSU S Grant Delpit last week, the logical next profile to do was his fellow defensive star teammate at LSU, LB K’Lavon Chaisson.

Chaisson had a phenomenal 2019 racking up 6.5 sacks while helping lead LSU to a 15-0 record and a national title.  Chaisson is one of the top pass rushers in this 2020 NFL Draft on Thursday after terrorizing SEC quarterbacks all season.

Chaisson finished his career on a high note in 2019 after not playing much as a freshman in 2017, only recording 27 tackles and 4.5 sacks, and only playing one game in 2018 due to an ACL tear.  Through his 2019 campaign, he not only managed the 6.5 sacks, but 13.5 TFL, 60 tackles, and a forced fumble while playing an SEC schedule.

The Houston, TX native does not lack confidence in any way.  Before the Week 2 matchup against the #9 Texas Longhorns in Austin, he went out and publicly criticized Longhorn QB Sam Ehlinger.

Chaisson has great size for an OLB/pass rusher at 6’3” and 254 lb and has good athleticism for his position.  He would be a great fit in Mike Nolan’s defense and should be there at the No. 17 pick.

Easily a player who can be a Day 1 Contributor and would be helpful for getting after QB’s especially with the mobile Daniel Jones and Carson Wentz being in the division.

Here is a look at his highlights from his LSU career.

There has been mutual interest between the team in Chaisson after a video conference between the two last week.
We’ll see what the NFL Draft brings.
