The fuel of the fire that is Free Agency is coming down from its shocking and almost iconic flames.
The trades and signings have been fun to track, and the upcoming NFL season will 100% be fun to watch.
Full of the same faces, yet all on different teams. The Dallas Cowboys, as kind of always, didn’t make the biggest splash in the FA puddle.
Yes, they did tag Dak Prescott, sign Amari Cooper to a huge deal, and signed new DT Gerald McCoy, a steal from the Carolina Panthers, but made his name known with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
However, among the rest of the free, free agents, A lot of Dallas fans are asking for Jerry Jones to get some snacks from the “store”.
Damon “Snacks” Harrison made a statement in his last season as a Detroit Lion, but most NFL fans will remember him wearing a New York Jets and New York Giants uniform.
Snacks is a big body, hence the name. And at 6’3, 350 pounds, he would be a great, almost perfect piece in the wall known as the Dallas Cowboys defense.
In his last game for the Lions, Snacks stacked up the following stats…
- 3 passes deflected
- 2.0 sacks
- 29 solo tackles
- 3 tackles for a loss
- and 2 QB hits
That’s all in one season. Not even. In 15 games.
In his best season, he put up a little bit more impressive numbers…
- 1 forced fumble
- 1 pass deflected
- 2.5 sacks
- 55 solo tackles
- 6 tackles for a loss
- and 4 QB hits
That was in 2016 in his stint with the Giants.
The Dallas Cowboys defense rotation would be borderline scary with the amount of talent they would have stacked up. The combination of McCoy and Snacks would just add a smaller hole for a running back to run through and less time for a QB to throw.
With the addition of Snacks, a chance for the repeat of the Vikings and Packers game would be slim.
The transition would also be easier than expected as Snacks added fuel to the fire on Twitter with a pair of googly eyes and a reminder that he already lives in Dallas.
What do you think? Should Jerry make this move, or is there another player that the Cowboys should have in mind?
