With the winter transfer window opening in MLS, clubs have begun signing players for the upcoming 2020 season.
This weekly column will be covering all the outgoing and incoming transfers and rumors that concern FC Dallas.
Outgoing
Bressan to Nacional
http://twitter.com/FlechandoC/status/1217079839611551747
According to reports coming out of Uruguay, Bressan is set to sign with Nacional. The current champions of the Primera Division in Uruguay, Nacional are looking to make a deep push in the Copa Libertadores and see the signing of the 27-year-old Brazilian as a step in that direction.
Bressan signed with FC Dallas last Winter, so it wouldn’t make sense for the club to release him just yet. However, the entire organization has a stockpile of center backs that are pushing for minutes, like Montgomery, Evans, Carrera, and now Burgess, and Bressan’s presence might hinder that growth. Although he probably won’t leave this transfer window, the center back position is going to shuffle in the next year or so.
Cristian Colman to Barcelona SC
El paraguayo Cristian Colmán, refuerzo de @BarcelonaSC para este 2020, arribó hace pocos minutos a Guayaquil.

Cristian Colman is set to sign with Ecuadorian giants Barcelona SC. The Paraguayan striker was released by FC Dallas a couple of months ago after a three year tenure with the club. The 25 year old scored an underwhelming 4 goals in 41 matches and was plagued by injuries and poor form.
Cristian Colman has become a poster child for bad international signings that FC Dallas has done in the last couple of years. Even so, he was never able to play consistently in the system that best suited him, which was as a striker underneath a playmaker. His 2019 was plagued by the ACL tear he received last year and a couple of lackluster performances with North Texas SC. We wish him the best of luck in his new endeavor.
Incoming
Franco Jara to FC Dallas

In a video about draft day, FC Dallas spilled their plans for a striker from the board shown above. The name Jara was immediately connected to Franco Jara, one of the few strikers with the surname who was also coincidentally linked to an unnamed MLS team in November. Franco Jara is a 31-year-old striker that is currently playing for Mexican club Pachuca. The Argentina native has 6 months remaining in his contract.
It is interesting that this is the second time in a couple years that FC Dallas has accidentally leaked their transfer targets through a video/photo. Franco Jara is the exact kind of striker that FC Dallas fans have been asking for, albeit a little older than desired. Many fans will remember the goal he scored against FC Dallas in the CONCACAF Champions League in 2017 (two actually). He would be a consistent threat up top, something that the club hasn’t had since Blas Perez.
Eddie Munjoma to FC Dallas
? WELCOME HOME! FC Dallas signs @EddieMunjoma to a Homegrown contract; becomes 27th Homegrown in club history: https://t.co/I8yEpzRvCR#DTID pic.twitter.com/rc9TU5IWGG

Eddie Munjoma was signed as FC Dallas’s 27th (!) Homegrown in club history on Monday. The right-back has spent the last 4 years with SMU, starting 63 matches. He caught the eyes of many across the nation after scoring 12 goals and notching 7 assists in 21 matches in his senior year. He was a MAC Hermann semifinalist this year and earned many other accolades, such as the East Region First Team Selection by United Soccer Coaches and to the All-America list College Soccer News.
Munjoma is seen as the obvious replacement to Reggie Cannon when (if? we haven’t heard much news on that front) he leaves. The FC Dallas academy graduate’s speed and agility going forward is only beaten by his defensive ability. He will be a great signing for FC Dallas and a starter for years to come.
5 players to North Texas SC
The first three players were announced on Tuesday.
? NEWS: We've signed 3️⃣ international players to our 2020 roster!

Juan Manuel Alvarez signed with North Texas on a one year loan from Liga MX champions Monterrey. Alvarez trained with North Texas SC at the latter half of the 2019 season. The 23 year old defender played a couple matches with Monterrey, but seemed to be on the outs, as he wasn’t able to crack the gameday roster. He can transition throughout the backline but plays mostly right back.
Pedro Conceição Alves signed with North Texas SC on a one year contract. Although he was transferred from Club Guarani, it seems he spent the last year with Batatais FC in the Sau Paulo state regional league, scoring one goal. The 21 year old Brazilian plays right back.
Alisson dos Santos Correa was the final signing of the day. The 20 year old Brazilian was signed to a one year contract as well. The defensive midfielder has played most of his career with one of Sau Paulo’s youth teams, and has even seen minutes in the Copa Paulista, a regional tournament of teams in the Sau Paolo state not participating in the first division of soccer in Brazil, the Serie A.
North Texas SC Continued with the news, signing two more players on Wednesday.
? NEWS: We've signed former @FCDallas Academy players Philip Ponder and Gibran Rayo!
Welcome to the club, guys!

North Texas SC signed SMU defender and Academy Graduate Philip Ponder to a one year contract. The 22 year old center back came off an impressive senior year with SMU, playing in 18 matches and notching one assist. He played in 50 matches for the Mustangs in his four years in college. Prior to that, he was a player for the FC Dallas Academy teams.
North Texas SC also signed Gibran Rayo straight out of the Academy. The 18-year-old played 12 matches for North Texas SC but was not rostered as he was still with the Academy. Rayo has been a consistent goal-scoring threat for the Academy since 2017 and scored 1 goal for North Texas SC in 2019
Debunked Transfers
Gadi Kinda to FC Dallas
Reports from Israel are linking FC Dallas with Beitar Jerusalem's 26-year-old winger/attacking midfielder Gadi Kinda. They're calling it a €2m move for a player who has 7g 4a in 16 appearances this season. He mysteriously missed yesterday's game which ramped up speculation
— Dan Crooke (@Crooke86) January 14, 2020
Gadi Kinda was linked to FC Dallas due to reports from Israel. The 26 year old plays as a center attacking mid, and he was one of the stars for his team. FC Dallas reportedly bid 2 million for the player. However, reports are coming in that it was actually Sporting Kansas City who won the bid for Kinda, bidding around the figure of 3.7 million.
Unless there was some news that either Paxton Pomykal or Michael Barrios were on the outs, this signing would have made no sense for the club. Most of the backup to the starters are academy players, and the club also signed Fafa Picault, who just recently landed in Dallas. It would have made no sense for the club to spend TAM (possible DP) money on a backup to Paxton.
Luis Ovalle to FC Dallas
Al parecer tendría un acuerdo verbal con el Dallas FC. https://t.co/GOgInDgVzU

It was reported about a week ago that FC Dallas had signed the 31-year-old Panamanian International. However, it turned out to be a prank of the Day of the Innocents (December 28), the day where many in Latin America play pranks.
Well, you guys wanted more transfers, and it seems like the offseason is starting to heat up.
Any of these signings interest you? who else do you want to join?
