The headliners for the Stars so far have been Roope, Denis, Miro, and Esa. A few of the other young Stars though are beginning to make their way.

Dallas has the depth that all teams need to get through the season and find playoff success so their contributions will continue to be important. Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin will find their goal-scoring strokes soon, the chances are there for them. Until that happens, the Stars depth players can help ease their burden.

Radek Faksa

The center for the FCC line of the Stars is quietly putting together another solid season for Dallas. The forward from the Czech Republic has put together 3 straight seasons with 30 points. Radek has scored 3 goals in his last 4 games and currently sits with 7 points on the season, good for 6th on the team. Some doubters will point out his plus/minus which is a minus 7 so far. Plus/minus is a useless stat in this case specifically for Radek is consistently going against the opponent’s top line night after night. Hopefully, Radek can recreate this magical gem from 2017 that will forever be a part of Stars’ history.

Taylor Fedun

A surprise standout so far on the season is Taylor Fedun. Currently, he has yet to score a goal but has 6 assists on the season thus far. His name is not often mentioned on the broadcast and for some players, that means they are doing their job. The slew of injuries thus far for Dallas has forced Fedun into an important role for the team and he has been better than expected thus far. There is the question as to who will come out when the Stars are finally healthy, but Fedun is making a case for staying in the lineup night after night. It is nice to see the defenseman having a bounce-back year after consistently being healthy scratched at the end of last year.

Jason Dickinson

If it had not been for the unfortunate injury, Dickinson would probably be sitting on at least 5 goals right now. Alas, injuries occur and hindered what looked like a promising start to Jason’s season. The winger has been crucial to an aggressive forecheck for Dallas. His ability to force turnovers is a great offense generator for a team that struggles to score.

It could be interesting to see if maybe throwing him on a line with Tyler and Jamie can jump-start their seasons, although it should be noted Tyler Seguin has 11 points on the year. The only hope is Jason stops getting in the face, but it is possible that is a source of his power, see the Nashville series last year.

Dallas has many names who are having standout years thus far. It lets some of the other players have really good starts to the season seemingly go unnoticed. It is important to acknowledge them and award the credit they deserve. Faksa, Dickinson, and Fedun are all beginning to contribute offensively.

All 3 have also been defensively sound as well. Dallas has seemingly found their stride and the continued contributions of these 3 players will be critical to the continuation of that success.
