The Dallas Stars are 3 games into their preseason and here are 3 players that have really stepped up in their preseason. These 3 players haven’t necessarily put in all of the points but they are the ones putting in the time and taking every chance they can get.

Without further ado, here are 3 Stars Putting in the Time.

Nicholas Caamano

Nicholas Caamano is a 21-years-old right-winger, standing at 6’2″, 195 lbs. He was drafted in 2016 in the 5th round, 146th overall. Caamano hasn’t played a game in the NHL yet, spending most of his time in the AHL and OHL.

Nicholas Caamano Stats Via Elite Prospects

Caamano played against the Blues in the Stars’ first preseason game of this preseason. He ended up playing 14:58 during that game and in that time he had 3 shots on goal and 5 hits.

Andrej Sekera

Andrej Sekera is new to the Stars’ locker room but not to the NHL. At 33 years old, he’s a 6’0″, 200 lbs defenseman who has played 707 regular-season NHL games. He’s an older guy that can move the puck and he’ll log massive minutes for this team.

Sekera played against the Wild in the Stars’ 2nd preseason game. He logged 24:32 during that game, the most of any player during that game (besides Landon Bow, the goalie). He played 3:13 while the Stars were shorthanded. He had 2 hits in the game and a 0 rating.

Jamie Oleksiak

Jamie Oleksiak made his return to the Stars late last season via a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Oleksiak is an absolute truck, he’s 6’7″ and 255 lbs. In just 21 games with the Stars at the end of last season, Oleksiak had 22 blocked shots and 38 hits. This season, he’s back and just as strong.

Oleksiak has played in 2 preseason games with the Stars, one against the Minnesota Wild and the other against the Colorado Avalanche. In those two games, he had 5 hits, 6 blocked shots, averaged 18:35 in the game against the Wild and 17:49 against the Avalanche.

There have been a number of names, both new and known, that have been outstanding this preseason but these three players have been putting in a bit extra to get themselves on the NHL roster.
