Summer is heating up and in the global soccer world, that means transfer windows are open and transfer rumors abound. Over the summer, this weekly column will round up all the incoming and outgoing transfers and rumors involving FC Dallas.
OUTGOING
RUMOR: Pablo Aranguiz to Unión Española
Sources: Pablo Aranguiz told other players today that he's been "sold back to Chile."
He also apparently did not train today…
So it seems a move is going down with Aranguiz. #FCDallas #DTID

Another week and another appearance for Pablo Aranguiz in the transfer roundup post. Aranguiz had previously been linked to a loan back to Chile with Club Universidad de Chile but reports out of Chile now have Aranguiz in talks to join his former club Unión Española on a 6 month loan. The Chilean club are apparently a bit too short on cash to purchase Aranguiz’s contract in full and are reportedly deep in discussions with FC Dallas to take Aranguiz on loan through the rest of the MLS season. Aranguiz has fallen well down the depth chart, appearing with North Texas SC in the friendly against Sevilla’s reserves and training with North Texas SC earlier in the week. It will be fascinating to see if Aranguiz’s loan becomes permanent and how FC Dallas chooses to fill his young DP slot that would be vacated in the event of a transfer.
RUMOR: Paxton Pomykal to Europe
Amid interest from abroad, @FCDallas hope midfielder Paxton Pomykal will stay "2-3 years" –> https://t.co/pnxwmJTZy2 pic.twitter.com/NvCFuo8e0V

It seems to be a foregone conclusion that Paxton Pomykal will make a move to Europe, the question has become when he will make the move. It is anybody’s guess as to when Paxton does finally make his move and to where, but it is increasingly looking less and less likely that this summer transfer window will be the window in which he makes the move. FC Dallas technical director Andre Zanotta told MLSSoccer.com that he hopes Pomykal will stick around for another “2-3 years.” This seems unlikely considering the young midfielder’s performances and the attention he has already received after half a season of MLS play but it certainly speaks to the club’s attitude toward selling him. Zanotta clearly values him highly and is not going to sell Pomykal at any kind of cut-rate fee. Do not expect to see Pomykal make a move this summer but do expect to see continuous rumors about his move until it actually happens.
INCOMING
*crickets*
Nothing on the rumor front in terms of incoming transfers for this week. To this point in the summer, Dallas has signed Ricardo Pepi to a homegrown deal from North Texas SC, brought Edwin Gyasi on loan from CSKA Sofia and brought in Richard Danso on loan for North Texas SC. Prior to the transfer window, FC Dallas President Dan Hunt promised “meaningful reinforcements” and told FC Dallas fans to expect multiple new signings in the summer window. It is impossible to know if Hunt considers Pepi, Gyasi, and Danso to be those reinforcements, but Dallas fans have certainly not been hesitant to express their frustration at the transfer window to this point. If Pablo Aranguiz is indeed loaned out or sold, that would free up a young DP spot that Dallas could use to bring in a new player or use that spot to give an existing player a new contract. All fans can do is wait and see if Dallas ventures into the market any more this summer to find any more pieces to add to the squad.
What moves, if any, does Dallas still need to make in the transfer window? Will Pablo Aranguiz head out on loan this window? How much longer do you expect to see Paxton Pomykal playing for the club? Sound off in the comments below!
