Summer is heating up and in the global soccer world that means transfer windows are open and transfer rumors abound. Over the summer, this weekly column will round up all the incoming and outgoing transfers and rumors involving FC Dallas.

OUTGOING

RUMOR: Paxton Pomykal to Europe

Another week and another rumor of interest from big European clubs in homegrown midfielder Paxton Pomykal. This report comes from an ESPN article on MLS and USMNT transfer rumors in which Pomykal’s likelihood to make a move in the summer transfer window was rated at 15%. Kristian Dyer notes interest from Italian giant AC Milan along with interest from unnamed clubs in England and Germany. The general thought around Pomykal is that a move in this summer’s transfer window is relatively unlikely but it is a case of when not if the 19-year-old makes his move to Europe.

RUMOR: Pablo Aranguiz to Club Universidad de Chile

Aranguiz’s struggles in Dallas have been well noted, with the young Chilean failing to make his mark in his 20 MLS appearances since joining in the summer of 2018. Initially tapped to replace Mauro Diaz as the club’s number 10, Aranguiz has clearly had a difficult time adapting to Luchi Gonzalez’s tactical changes and he has subsequently been a bit part player in 2019. Multiple sources in Chile have reported that Aranguiz is looking for options to move back to his home country with Club Universidad de Chile being singled out as a potential destination. This rumor will be an interesting one to follow as the summer moves along, especially if Aranguiz continues to exist on the periphery of the squad.

INCOMING

CONFIRMED: Richard Danso to North Texas SC

This rumor developed very quickly with a report coming out from Football Made in Ghana on July 15th stating that Danso was set to sign with FC Dallas. The following day, fans learned that Danso was in fact signing for North Texas SC on a season-long loan from West African Football Academy SC in his native Ghana. Danso is a forward who was previously set to sign with Tunisian giants Étoile du Sahel but had the deal fall through due to issues obtaining an international transfer certificate. Apparently Danso has been able to get all that cleared up as NTXSC was able to take Danso on loan. Danso’s signing feels very similar to the signing of Alfusainey Jatta with the club bringing in a young, promising player on loan. Danso is certainly a promising player, having made appearances at the U17, U20 and U23 levels for Ghana. Look out for Danso as NTXSC’s season starts to wind down.

What do you think about the singing of Richard Danso? Does he project as a future FC Dallas player? How long should FC Dallas try to hold on to Paxton Pomykal? Should the club sell Pablo Aranguiz back to his home country? Sound off in the comments below!
