The MLB Amateur Draft is this Monday, June 3rd and runs thru the 5th. Along with the draft, there are a ton of prognosticators who make predictions on which player will be taken by which team.

This is known as a “Mock Draft” to most sports fans. This will be Dallas Sports Nation’s first ever Mock Draft for Major League Baseball. The process consists of different variables. First I read through all other baseball publications own Mock Drafts. Then I looked through the various prospect rankings. Both of these combined with slot money amounts and pure gut feeling, completed the process.

Baseball America has the Rangers taking Brett Baty out of Lake Travis High School in Austin.

MLB Pipeline has the Rangers taking Hunter Bishop from Arizona State.

The Athletic has the Rangers taking Jackson Rutledge out of San Jacinto Junior College.

ESPN has the Rangers taking Texas Tech slugger Josh Jung.

Bleacher Report say that the Rangers go with Corbin Carroll our of Lakeside HS in Seattle.

The Ranger predictions are all over the place. However, Dallas Sports Nation has settled on the following first round picks…
