The Dallas Stars absolutely dominated in Game 4 of the first round series against the Nashville Predators.
The Stars scored a whopping 4 goals in the first 20 minutes and worked hard to keep the lead for the remainder of the game. What separated this game from the others is the production from all levels of the Stars’ lineup.
In Game 1
The Stars had 6 players put up points in Game 1. Miro Heiskanen was the Hero with 2 points while the other 5 players picked up 1 point per. Although the game was a victory, it was slim with the final score 3-2 in the Stars’ favor.

In Game 2
Game 2 was rough for the Stars. It was another close game that left more to be desired from the team. Only 2 players put up points, Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin. The Stars only put up 23 registered shots on goal compared to Nashville’s 42.

In Game 3
Game 3 the Stars came back at the Predators but fell short in the end. The Stars were more awake in this game, having 5 players contribute on the scoring sheet. This time the Stars outshot the Preds 42-28. Overall, there was more energy in their play and it was a better showing that seemed to help them realize the key part they were missing.

In Game 4
Last night, the Stars annihilated the Preds and the key was depth scoring. The Stars had 10 players get their name on the score sheet with 14 points split between them. Depth scoring has been a problem for the Stars this season but this game is proof that when the whole team contributes, the Stars are a force to be reckoned with.

When everyone contributes, beautiful things happen. Game 5 is this Saturday and the Stars have begun to learn their lesson on how to put the Predators down.
The Stars have figured out how to get into Pekka Rinne’s head and that is going to be a key part of their victories moving forward.
