Well it happened. The Texas Rangers have decided to move on from manager Jeff Banister after 4 seasons with the ball club.

Don Wakamatsu will step in as interim manager for the remainder of the season.

Though Banny was here 4 seasons, it seemed as though the Rangers gave up on him a bit prematurely after winning Manager of the Year in the midst of 2 division titles in the 2015 and 2016 seasons. In his tenure in Texas, he has a record of 325-313, a 51% winning percentage.

Although the Rangers have no plans of contending for a championship anytime soon, they obviously thought it was time to move on from the beloved manager rather than stick with him through this important rebuild.

To Jeff Banister and family, thank you for your time and energy, and Never Ever Quit.
