Russian news site R Sport reports that Valeri Nichushkin has signed a two year deal with the Dallas Stars to be announced on July 1st. Nichushkin, selected 10th overall by Dallas in the 2013 draft, is rumored to be returning to the Stars after a two year stint in the KHL. This marks the first reported confirmation of a deal between the 23-year-old right winger and the Stars.

R Sport cites a source “close to the situation,” in their article on the subject. Nichushkin’s contract with CSKA Moscow ended on April 30th of this year, leaving the forward available for Summer negotiations.

The Stars have indicated that Nichushkin would be likely to return for the 2018-2019 season since last July and recently posted the following on Twitter:

Regardless of whether a contract has yet been negotiated, Nichushkin may still see Dallas in his future. In a June 6th Instagram post Nichushkin told John Klingberg he would “See [him] soon.”

Hopefully, so will Stars fans.
